Terms & Conditions

These comprehensive terms govern your use of the Akira Technology Solutions platform, our storefront, Akira Premium subscriptions, and our B2B, Affiliate, and Supplier networks. By interacting with us, you agree to these legally binding terms.

Buyers, Accounts & Ordering

General Consumer Rights

  • Individuals: You must be at least 18 years old to register an account and be legally able to enter into contracts within the Republic of South Africa.
  • Businesses: Business buyers must register an Akira corporate account subject to our B2B terms and warrant that all submitted registry and tax information is accurate.
  • Account Security: You are solely responsible for keeping your login credentials private. You carry the absolute risk for any unauthorized or fraudulent activity occurring under your account.

Platform Independence

Akira Technology Solutions operates strictly as a primary retailer and service provider, not a third-party marketplace. We do not host independent resellers on our platform.

While we supply and curate various premium tech brands (e.g., Apple, Dell, Ubiquiti), your contract of sale, hardware support, and customer service remains exclusively and directly with Akira Technology Solutions.

Order Processing & Strict Cancellations

Adding items to your cart does not reserve them, nor does it guarantee price stability. An order is only considered legally complete and binding once full payment has been received, verified, and confirmed by our systems.

Akira reserves the absolute right to cancel an order prior to dispatch if:

  • Requested hardware goes out of stock prior to payment clearing.
  • Payment processing fails or is flagged by our fraud-prevention systems.
  • We identify a material error in the listing information or pricing.
  • Fraudulent activity or abuse of the Akira platform is suspected.

Pricing, Errors & Omissions

We work diligently to ensure that all information on our platform—including product descriptions, tech specifications, and pricing—is completely accurate. However, technology retail involves thousands of data points, and systemic errors or API synchronization delays may occur.

Pricing Errors (E&OE)

In the event that a product is mistakenly listed at an incorrect price (e.g., a R30,000 gaming laptop listed for R300 due to a systemic glitch), Akira reserves the explicit right to refuse or cancel any orders placed for that product, regardless of whether the order has been confirmed and your credit card charged.

Refunds for Cancellations

If your payment method has already been charged for the purchase and your order is cancelled due to a pricing error, Akira shall issue a full, immediate refund to your original method of payment in the exact amount of the incorrect charge.

Technical Specifications

Hardware specifications, benchmark estimates, and product images are provided by the original manufacturers. Akira cannot be held legally liable for slight discrepancies between the listed specifications and the final product delivered.

Hardware Repairs & SLAs

Akira Technology Solutions provides professional repair services via House Calls, Campus Calls, and in-store diagnostics. By handing over your device to an Akira technician, you legally agree to our strict Service Level Agreement (SLA) outlined below.

Workmanship Warranty

We provide a strict 90-day warranty on all physical labor and workmanship performed by our technicians. However, parts replaced during the repair are subject to their own manufacturer warranties, which may differ in length.

Data Loss Waiver

While we exercise extreme caution, Akira is not liable for the loss of data, software, or media during diagnostics, OS flashes, or repair. It is solely the customer's responsibility to back up their data prior to service.

Right of Refusal

We reserve the right to refuse service on devices that have been catastrophically damaged, submerged in liquid, tampered with by unauthorized third parties prior to our assessment, or present a biological/health hazard.

Abandoned Devices

Devices left at our premises for more than 90 days after repair completion and notification will be legally considered abandoned. They will be recycled or sold to recover diagnostic and repair costs.

Vouchers, Coupons & Payments

Gift Vouchers

  • Valid for exactly 3 years from the date of issue.
  • Cannot be used to purchase another gift voucher or to pay for recurring subscriptions.
  • Cannot be exchanged for cash, withdrawn, or refunded to a bank account.
  • We take zero responsibility for the unauthorized sharing, theft, or loss of digital vouchers once emailed to you.

Coupons & Discount Deals

  • Coupons may only be used once per order, per user.
  • Coupons cannot be exchanged for cash or applied to prior purchases.
  • We reserve the explicit right to correct, cancel, or decline any coupon due to suspected misuse or platform errors.

Payment Gateway Security

You must pay for your order using any payment method available at checkout (e.g., PayFast, Yoco, Ozow). Each payment service provider operates under its own strict terms and conditions, and is legally responsible for the end-to-end encryption and security of your payment details during processing. Akira Technology Solutions does not store your raw credit card numbers on our servers.

Akira Rewards & Akira Premium

Akira Premium Subscription

Akira Premium is an exclusive subscription service providing comprehensive warranty care and priority repair services for your laptops, PCs, and networking hardware—bringing enterprise-level IT support to individuals and students.

Subscription Coverage

Grants partial-to-full coverage on hardware diagnostics, bench fees, labor costs, and grants priority queuing for campus and house calls.

Billing & Cancellation

Billed on a recurring monthly/annual basis. Subscriptions can be cancelled at any time, but previously paid cycles are non-refundable. Coverage remains active until the end of your billing cycle.

The Akira Rewards Programme

Loyal customers earn cashback rewards on eligible hardware and service purchases made directly on the Akira Store.

Earning Credits

Rewards are calculated as a percentage of the total order value (incl. VAT).

Issuance

Rewards are aggregated and issued to your account quarterly, provided 30 days have lapsed since delivery.

Expiry

Store credit rewards must be redeemed within 3 years. They are non-transferable and cannot be withdrawn as cash.

B2B Enterprise Programme

Our B2B program is designed for enterprise clients, universities, and high-volume networking buyers. To participate, you must provide a valid registered company registration number or VAT number. Payment for B2B orders must be made via available methods or electronic bank transfer.

B2B Rebate Tiers

To earn a rebate on B2B Orders, you must place an order in accordance with the criteria below. Net Merchandise Value (NMV) excludes VAT, delivery fees, and returns.

Issuance & Validity

Rebates are granted as a voucher sent via email within 60 days of delivery. Vouchers must be redeemed within 3 years and cannot be exchanged for cash.

Conflicts & Discretion

You must promptly disclose any conflicts of interest. We reserve the absolute right to approve, reject, amend, or terminate B2B participation at any time without notice.

Hardware Suppliers & Vendors

Akira Technology Solutions partners with elite local and international hardware distributors to supply our storefront. Suppliers must adhere to our strict supply chain framework.

Quality Control

All hardware dropshipped or supplied directly to Akira warehouses must meet local ICASA safety regulations and carry valid manufacturer warranties.

Liability

Suppliers remain legally and financially liable for gross defects or systemic recalls of networking and consumer hardware supplied under the Akira banner.

Stock Sync

Vendors must ensure API or inventory syncs reflect accurate real-time stock to prevent customer order cancellations and maintain platform integrity.

Campus Affiliates & Field Staff

Akira Technology Solutions utilizes Campus Ambassadors and Field Technicians to execute House Calls, repair networks, and promote the brand locally.

Representation & Privacy

  • Brand Integrity: Affiliates and technicians must conduct themselves professionally, ethically, and in accordance with Akira's internal code of conduct at all times while representing the brand.
  • Strict Data Privacy: Field staff are strictly prohibited from accessing, copying, storing, or distributing private customer data found on devices during repair calls. Violations will result in immediate termination and legal action.

Employment Status

  • Independent Contractors: Unless explicitly stated in a signed, formal employment contract, campus affiliates and field sales reps operate as independent contractors earning commissions. They are entirely responsible for their own tax obligations to SARS.

Deliveries & Proprietary Reselling

Delivery & Transfer of Risk

We may charge a delivery fee to deliver your order to your chosen address. When someone accepts or collects the order at your chosen address, your order is legally considered delivered. You must ensure the person accepting delivery has your explicit permission.

Strict Prohibition on Reselling

Once you have paid for and received an item, the physical hardware is officially yours. However, you may not act as an unauthorized reseller of Akira Proprietary Products.

Akira Technology Solutions manufactures and curates proprietary internal products, software configurations, and branded networking solutions. Any unauthorized reselling, white-labeling, or commercial distribution of these proprietary Akira products without our explicit, written contractual consent will face the full extent of the law. Violators will face immediate account termination, cancellation of pending orders, and civil litigation to recover damages.

Acceptable Use Policy

Akira owns and operates this platform. You may browse and shop, but you do not obtain ownership of any underlying code or content. To maintain the security and speed of our store for all customers, you explicitly agree that you will not:

  • Use any device, software, or script to interfere with the operation of our platform.
  • Use any robot, spider, or automatic process to monitor or scrape our content (except for authorized search engines).
  • Attempt to bypass our security measures, deploy malicious payloads, or launch DDoS attacks against our servers.
  • Distribute material that is defamatory, offensive, or amounts to hate speech anywhere on our platform.

We reserve the right to immediately terminate the account, void pending orders, and ban the IP address of any user found violating this Acceptable Use Policy.

Intellectual Property & Content

Copyright & Trademarks

The platform content is the absolute property of Akira Technology Solutions or is licensed directly to us. This includes all text, graphics, logos, product images, digital downloads, UI designs, and backend code.

You may not download (other than standard page caching) or modify any portion of it without our express written consent.

User Generated Content

Our platform includes content from other people, such as customer reviews and product feedback. We value these contributions, but they represent the opinions of other users, not ours. We are not legally responsible for what other people post on our platform.

By submitting reviews, comments, or suggestions, you grant Akira a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual right to use, reproduce, modify, and display such content throughout our marketing channels.

Third-Party Links & Services

In an attempt to provide increased value to our visitors, Akira may link to sites operated by third parties (such as manufacturer driver-download pages, warranty registration portals, or specialized payment gateways).

However, even if the third party is affiliated with Akira, we have no control over these linked sites, all of which have separate privacy and data collection practices independent of us. These linked sites are only for your convenience, and you access them entirely at your own risk.

Limitation of Liability & Force Majeure

By using our platform, you understand and accept that internet shopping carries inherent risks, and you do so at your own risk. You cannot hold us responsible for any loss, damage, or costs experienced when using our platform, except where required by law.

Force Majeure (Events Beyond Our Control)

We will not be held responsible for any delay or failure to comply with our obligations if the failure arises from causes beyond our reasonable control. This includes, but is not limited to, national courier strikes, severe load-shedding/power grid failures, telecommunication infrastructure breakdowns, natural disasters, or acts of government.

Disputes & Legal Notices

Resolving Disputes

Our priority is to work things out together. If something goes wrong, please start by contacting our Customer Support team; most problems can be easily resolved this way.

If we cannot reach an agreement, these terms are governed by South African law. We explicitly agree that the High Court of South Africa (Gauteng Division) will have jurisdiction to hear any legal matters between us.

If you are unhappy with the outcome of a complaint, you may contact the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud (CGSO) at info@cgso.org.za to assist you.

Updates to this Agreement

We may change any provision of our agreement at any time without giving you prior notice. However, we will publish those changes on our platform. You accept the changes when you continue to use our platform after the update is published.
